FALC’s next “Meet the Artist” mixer features six of Jillian Goldberg's soaring, song-inspired paintings, beautifully exhibited through October 24 at the new downtown Cary office of Hodge & Kittrell Sotheby's International Realty.

For this body of work, Jillian leaned into Jazz rhythms and Blues melodies for inspiration. Vibrant indigos and sultry purples in her palette suggest song titles and cherished lyrics...from Duke Ellington and Edith Piaf to George Gershwin and Herbie Hancock. You might even catch yourself humming a few bars!

Come enjoy wine, refreshments, and lively conversation against the backdrop of Jillian's large contemporary abstracts in this lovely, light-filled space. FALC's ""Meet the Artist"" events are free and open to the public. Try to make time to visit the other downtown galleries that are participating in the Final Friday Cary Art Loop that evening, as well!

About Jillian

Born and raised in South Africa, Jillian studied art education at the University of Cape Town. Jillian's favorite medium is acrylic paint and mixed media collage. Bold color and strong grounded compositions are essential elements in all her work. Her inspiration comes from many sources, in particular her love of ancient and vernacular architecture seen on her travels. Literature and music also provide starting points for color and shape.

Jillian believes that authentic art transcends time and place. Her interest in abstraction lies in the lack of direct imagery that allows the viewer to respond intuitively to the elements of color, shape, and line.
