Artist's Bio
Originally from Indianapolis, I moved to North Carolina after a 20+ year stop in Kentucky. From an early age, I loved making art and showed some aptitude. My parents found a local instructor and I took pastel and oil painting lessons throughout my elementary and high school years. Post high school, I kept up with oil painting as a hobby until my career and other interests took precedence. For 35 years, I did not pick up a paintbrush. A trip to Italy prompted my renewed interest in making art and I began my painting education anew. After several years of classes, I began to exhibit through juried shows and exhibitions at local venues. In 2013, I joined Tipping Paint Artists. Our gallery was originally on South McDowell in downtown Raleigh but we eventually move to 311 West Martin Street. After Tipping Paint gave up its physical gallery, I remained at 311 Gallery with my own exhibition space until the pandemic. I have exhibited throughout North Carolina and my artwork is in collections in the South, Midwest, and both coasts. My home studio in Historic Oakwood is open by appointment.
